Factory 4 series Dana 44 powr-lok posi with a part number of 25565X and date 5-24-69 for 30 spline applications using 3.92 numerically higher gear ratio - deck height approximately 2.40. Clutch plates all looked good and resistance checked out, cross pin seat areas have no abnormal wear. Bearing registers are not spun. Axle splines also look good.

Unit has been disassembled, cleaned and inspected. A small portion of the ring gear surface area has a pitted as seen in pics - looks possibly to have been casting flaw from foundry.
